It's like a replay

Another of my friends quit today. My oldest Schlumberger friend actually, who was based in Africa. She had been having a rough time in school and decided that she was done. Finished. She and I used to joke that if we ever quit, we would quit together in a blaze of glory. Or next spring we would take a vacation in Italy together, dragging our respective boyfriends with us to Italian food cooking classes. Oh well. She is fun, nice, exciting, and one of the few females that I love to talk to because we both talk really fast and have so many things in common that a conversation never gets old. And those things haven't changed, nor will they change just because she has decided that schlumberger is not for her either. I am a little sad though, because that is one more name that will disappear from my MOC. :( And I'll miss that, and her, just a little bit now.

Love you guys.

Hi Becca...

The only constant is change, or so I'm told...life is ever evolving and changing. Remember the saying about people come into your life for a reason, they may not stay, but there was a purpose and then they may leave, and you'll meet someone else, and maybe it is, that you have a purpose in their life. Sometimes life seems to be a swirling vapor, touching this, and touching that, but we leave our print on every life we touch, as do other people leave their print on our lives. When someone moves on in a different direction, it may cause us concern or grief, but time heals this, and we ourselves move on, and the gap that person left will be filled with new acquaintances and or adventures, so while at the moment we may be perplexed by the situation, that may turn to understanding, or possibly into just lack of interest.

I think what you may be experiencing is the realization that not everyone is as smart as you are, nor do they have the tenacity you have. You are a very special person who has been gifted with brains and ability beyond most.

I'm glad to hear you had a good time learning to scubba, and that Adam was able to come spend a week with you.

Looking forward to seeing you Christmas.

Love you, G'ma J
